The EOC Commission Preparation for the Olympic Games, chaired by George Katulin, Belarus, met at the ANOC office on 23 March to discuss the preparation for the upcoming Games and also the challenges that the NOCs are facing with preparations for the growing number of Games.

ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg and IOC Head of NOC Games Services Tosh Tsurunaga gave an update of the follow up from the Chef de Mission meeting in PyeongChang held in February 2017. They also informed about preparations for the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, for the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires and for the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.

The delegates had an open and constructive discussion about the pressure on the NOCs in the preparations for many Games and also the growing costs for the NOCs for the participation.

ANOC Secretary Gunilla Lindberg said after the meeting: “It is always very fruitful to gather smaller groups of NOCs and listen to the specific problems they are facing”. She also said that the questions raised will be followed up by ANOC in cooperation with IOC.
